Giornata

How it works

From the day to the report, with no invented steps in between.

Four moments, and that is all. The system prepares what is ordinary and asks for your attention only where something really changed.

  1. 01

    The day

A date, a client, a job, what you did and how long it lasted.

    • Plan it ahead, when the work tells you, or log it while it is happening.
    • One day can hold several jobs: a load-in in the morning and a show in the evening stay two distinct things, not an average.
    • A job that ends after midnight stays the day it really was — no automatic split at 00:00.
  2. 02

    The confirmation

What was planned is confirmed with one gesture. Everything else is an exception, and it shows.

    • A day that was planned and went to plan does not ask to be filled in again: it asks to be confirmed.
    • If it went differently — hours, role, client, fee — you change only what changed.
    • Until you confirm, it stays a forecast. A forecast never turns itself into actual work.
  3. 03

    Fee and expenses

What that work was worth, and what you paid for out of your own pocket.

    • The fee follows your own rate rules, including the ones that only apply from a certain date onwards.
    • Expenses keep what must be reimbursed to you apart from what stays at your charge.
    • A correction never erases the past: it creates a new version, and the previous one stays reconstructible.
  4. 04

    The report

At the end of the month you check the exceptions, not every day that went fine.

    • Closing the month shows you what is missing or does not add up, and lets you fix it right there.
    • A draft report is for checking and marks nothing as already reported.
    • A final report is immutable: it stays the photograph of that month, even if something changes afterwards.

Around the flow

What you do not have to remember to do.

Offline is not an edge case

Logging a day with no signal is an ordinary condition, not an error. The work stays on the device and syncs when the connection comes back, without you having to remember it.

Phone and web, one memory

The phone is where the work is captured. The web is where there is room to breathe: long reviews, operations across many days, closing the month.

Google Calendar, if you want it

Giornata can mirror your commitments onto your own Google Calendar. It is optional, it goes one way only, and your fees never leave Giornata.

The days that are missing

When you logged nothing at all.

The two capabilities that help you recover a date left empty, without ever deciding for you.

Smart reconstructionComing soon

For the dates left empty, Giornata proposes explained hypotheses, each with the reason it exists. A proposal is not a fact: nothing is created until you confirm it yourself, at any level of confidence, and when what was planned and what was observed disagree it shows you both rather than choosing for you.

Place memoryComing soon

Place memory is optional and off by default. It uses low-power location updates to remember meaningful stops and help you reconstruct days you never recorded. It is not real-time tracking, it is not proof of work, and you can pause it or erase it whenever you want.

Passive location history never reaches Giornata’s servers.

Smart underneath. Effortless outside.

The engine can be complicated. What you see, while you work, has to stay simple.
