First: export, if you need your data
Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover anything for you. People who keep a work record often need it for next year’s tax return.
Exporting is free, does not depend on your subscription and works until the last instant before deletion: reaching your own record is a right, not a feature to sell.
From the Android or iPhone app
Four steps, all inside the app, without writing to anybody.
- Open More in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to Delete your account and tap Delete account.
- Read the three lines that say what happens, then type DELETE in the field.
- Tap Delete permanently.
From the browser
The same steps, from the web version.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down to Delete the account.
- Type DELETE and confirm with Delete permanently.
If you can no longer sign in
Write to us from the email address you signed up with, to the privacy address above, asking for your account to be deleted. We answer within one month.
We never ask for a password, neither in a message nor through a link: a request that asks you for one does not come from us.
What gets deleted
Everything in your workspace. Access ends at once, from this device and from every other one: the workspace closes in the same operation that records your request.
- Your days and their history, including revisions and the fees you had earned.
- Your expenses and the documents you had attached, receipt photographs included.
- Your clients, your jobs, your rates and your saved places.
- Your account and your sign-in credentials.
- What is left on THIS phone — days written locally and the sync queue — goes when you uninstall the app.
What stays, and for how long
Destroying the data is not instant, and saying otherwise would be the easiest lie to tell here: access ends at once, destruction is the next step, and it counts as complete only once its record is durable.
- A record of the deletion in a journal that lives outside the database: it says that a workspace was deleted and when, never what it held. It exists so that restoring a backup cannot bring back what you deleted.
- The backups already written expire on their own rotation, and the record above stops them handing you back.
- The records of your subscription and your payments, if you made any: the payment service’s events, the subscription’s state and its history, who changed the payment method and when. Never your work days, your expenses or your clients. They are kept apart from everything else, nothing in the product uses them, and they stay for 10 years from your last payment or billing event, because they are tax records: no deletion request can shorten that term. Then they are deleted.
- The technical diagnostics, which hold nothing from your days: 35 days for what is tied to a workspace, 90 days for anonymous aggregates.
If your workspace has other members
The request is refused, and we tell you why: deleting a shared workspace would take somebody else’s work with it. Remove the other members and try again.
